Trust pays tribute to Craig Liddle and family
The Darlington Supporters’ Trust is sponsoring the matchball for the Quakers’ game against Durham City on Wednesday 26 September. The normal matchball sponsor’s package includes a pre-match meal for two and a signed matchball.
However, the Trust already has over 300 members and it was decided that it would be much more appropriate to invite Darlo’s most recent legend, Craig Liddle, and his family to enjoy this hospitality package as a family event and as a “thank you” not only from Trust members but, indeed, from all Darlo fans for his sterling efforts during the dark days of January through to May earlier this year and for the support which he so obviously received during this time from his family.
Craig, his wife Samantha and children Ben & Katie will be coming to the game and it is hoped that they will make an appearance on the pitch before kick-off so that all fans can give them a well deserved round of applause.
“The Trust is helping and supporting the club in many different ways” said Trust Chairman Doug Embleton. “Our fervent hope is that Martin Gray and his team are in the process of becoming the very next Darlo legends”.
