Positive Night At Fans Forum
Fans, management and directors convened tonight for the latest of Darlington Football Clubs fans forums at Blackwell Grange Hotel.
In attendance were manager Martin Gray and football secretary Colin Galloway, Chairman Dennis Pinnegar, Finance Director Martin Jesper along with directors Pete Ashmore, Tony Waters, Karen Glencross, Tori Gill and Ian Wilkinson.
The evening started with an opening statement from interim chairman Pinnegar outlining the issues of the past few weeks both on and off the pitch.
An important message that came out of the forum from the chairman, is that the club will not tolerate, in any way shape or form, the use of foul and abusive language on the terraces. The club could face fines and other possible sanctions should the problem continue to escalate.
An enjoyable evening was had by everyone in attendance with updates from the commercial, retail and fundraising sides of the club and an update on the CIC from Ian Wilkinson with the planned return to Darlington, which has been narrowed down to three different routes, with chairman Pinnegar being excited about the projects and journey that lay ahead.
A large part of the night was spent with questions directed towards manager Martin Gray about the current squad, his philosophy towards the players and his future hopes to take the club forward over the next few years including the possible introduction of an under 21 development team from next season.
Overall, a great informative night full of positivity, which hasn’t been seen at this club for a long time and long may it continue.
